In a dramatic turnaround, illegal immigration across the U.S.-Mexico border has plummeted to record lows in February 2025—Donald J. Trump’s first full month back in the White House. After four years of unchecked migration under Joe Biden, where crossings soared to an average of 8,000 per day, new data reveals that the total number of illegal border crossings for the entire month of February was approximately 8,000.

This staggering drop marks an unprecedented shift in border security policy, proving that strong leadership and decisive action can reverse the chaos that defined Biden’s presidency.

From Open Borders to Law and Order

The Biden administration’s lax immigration policies led to the worst border crisis in U.S. history. With catch-and-release policies, the end of key Trump-era measures like Title 42 and the Remain in Mexico policy, and a general unwillingness to enforce immigration law, millions of illegal immigrants flooded into the country. Cities across America buckled under the strain, with sanctuary cities declaring states of emergency as resources dried up.

But in just one month, President Trump’s policies have yielded an astonishing reversal. By reinstating Remain in Mexico, increasing deportations, deploying the National Guard, and expanding border wall construction, Trump has sent a clear message: the United States will no longer tolerate lawlessness at its borders.

A Win for National Security and the American Worker

The impact of this crackdown extends far beyond just numbers. With illegal crossings at historic lows, human trafficking operations are being disrupted, cartel profits are taking a hit, and American communities are finally getting relief from the burden of uncontrolled migration. Fewer illegal crossings mean fewer taxpayer dollars spent on housing, healthcare, and other services for those who entered the country unlawfully.

Additionally, the reduction in illegal immigration is a victory for American workers, particularly those in blue-collar industries who have long faced wage suppression due to an influx of cheap labor.

The Trump Effect: Results, Not Excuses

This dramatic success at the border is a testament to Trump’s America First approach. While Democrats spent years claiming that border security was an impossible task, Trump has proven them wrong in a matter of weeks. The contrast is undeniable: under Biden, the border was wide open. Under Trump, it is secure.

With this rapid and effective enforcement of immigration law, February 2025 may go down in history as the month the border crisis ended. If this trend continues, the United States could finally see a return to the rule of law and sovereignty that was lost under the previous administration.

One thing is clear—Trump’s leadership works. And America is safer because of it.
