The Trump administration launched investigations into 60 universities, including Harvard and Columbia, for alleged anti semitic discrimination under Title VI. The Department of Education, led by Secretary Linda McMahon, is addressing the surge in antisemitism since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, with Columbia already losing $400 million in grants for its inaction. This decisive move, backed by the IHRA definition of antisemitism, ensures universities prioritize Jewish student safety, as noted in a 2024 House report exposing campus failures.

The administration’s approach, including funding cuts and accountability, has forced improvements—45% of schools bettered their anti-antisemitism efforts, per the ADL’s March 3 report. Critics’ free speech concerns are misplaced; this targets harassment, not debate, as supported by a 2024 Texas ruling. With widespread support on X and from groups like PDX Hillel, this investigation sets a powerful precedent for combating hate while protecting civil rights, earning well-deserved praise.

At this moment I can't help but think what would have been if Harris won the election in 11/24.
